Vice President of Construction

Lead. Build. Scale.

A rapidly growing real estate development and construction company is seeking an experienced Vice President of Construction to lead its expanding multifamily and commercial construction operations throughout the Midwest.

This is a key executive leadership position for someone who has deep, hands-on experience delivering multifamily projects and understands what it takes to successfully scale construction operations across multiple projects and markets.

We're looking for more than a general construction executive. The right person will bring a proven multifamily track record—leading teams, managing complex projects from preconstruction through completion, building strong trade partner relationships, and creating the systems and processes necessary to support continued growth.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead construction operations across a growing portfolio of multifamily developments, along with select commercial projects.
• Provide executive oversight from preconstruction and budgeting through project execution, turnover, and closeout.
• Oversee project management, field operations, schedules, budgets, quality, and overall project performance.
• Develop and improve construction systems, processes, and operational strategies that can scale with the company's multifamily pipeline.
• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing project management and field teams.
• Establish accountability while creating a strong, performance-driven construction culture.
• Manage and expand subcontractor, vendor, and trade partner relationships across multiple Midwest markets.
• Partner directly with executive leadership on growth strategy, future developments, and expansion into new markets.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and at the quality expected of a premier multifamily developer/builder.

What We're Looking For

• Significant multifamily construction experience is essential.
• Proven leadership overseeing large-scale multifamily developments and multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong understanding of the full multifamily construction lifecycle, including preconstruction, estimating/budgeting, scheduling, field execution, turnover, and closeout.
• Executive or senior-level construction leadership experience with responsibility for teams, operations, and project performance.
• Experience building scalable systems, processes, and organizational structure within a growing construction operation.
• Ability to successfully lead teams and projects across multiple geographic markets.
• Strong subcontractor and trade partner relationships and an understanding of building networks in new markets.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
