Job Summary Under minimal supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric, within the nurse’s competencies following established standards and practices. Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree Minimum Experience: None Preferred Experience: Completion of a peri‑anesthesia or critical care internship/training course Required Certifications/Licensure: Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse or eligibility for state board certification Preferred Certifications/Licensure: CNOR Board eligible/certified – Surgery CPAN Board eligible/certified – Post Anesthesia SGNA Board eligible/certified – GI Lab Required Courses/Completions: BLS – must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) on hire; must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire. ACLS – must be completed within 60 days of hire or transferred into role for all Surgical Services areas. PALS – must be completed within 60 days of hire or transferred into role for Post Anesthesia Care. Unit for licensed staff that care for pediatrics includes facilities: North Central Baptist, St. Luke’s Baptist, Westover Hills Baptist and Resolute Baptist Hospital.
