Morabito Consultants, Inc. (MC) is a structural engineering and building remediation firm providing exceptional client services and high-quality design for all types of projects for nearly 40 years. While based out of the Baltimore-Metro Area, and in Deerfield Beach, FL, we have partnered on many projects up and down the east coast. MC designs over 400 projects each year ranging from residential homes and communities to office buildings, education facilities, medical facilities, and parking garages ranging in construction value of $200 thousand to $200 million. MC is currently seeking an Experienced Building Remediation Professional Engineer to join our Florida team. Both mid-level (10+ years) and highly experienced candidates are welcome to apply. Please email resumes, any sample work you wish to include to be considered.

Qualifications:

• Work authorization (Required). Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (Required).
• Florida Registered Professional Engineer (Required).
• 10+ Years Building Remediation Experience (Southeast Florida Region).
• Florida Special Inspector (Full or Limited) (Preferred).

Required Skills:

• Building Remediation: Experience evaluating occupied condominiums and multifamily buildings in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. Familiar with concrete deterioration, corrosion, waterproofing, balconies, façades, parking structures, and roofs.
• Business Development: Able to build relationships with condominium boards, property managers, attorneys, contractors, and architects. Experience finding project opportunities and preparing scopes and fee proposals.
• Professional Judgment: Strong technical and business judgment. Reliable, responsive, ethical, and willing to travel throughout South Florida as needed.
• Communication and Leadership: Clear written and verbal communication. Able to lead teams and explain technical and cost issues to clients.
• Engineering: Able to plan and lead condition assessments, develop repair recommendations, prepare reports and repair documents, perform structural analysis, and provide technical review.
• Project Management: Experience managing remediation projects from investigation and proposal through design, permitting, bidding, construction, and closeout. Able to manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
• Condominium Projects: Experience working with condominium associations, boards, community association managers, property managers, and owners. Comfortable leading meetings and working in occupied buildings. Understands requirements of Milestone recertifications, Reserve Studies, and other key aspects of condominium construction and maintenance.
• Construction Estimating: Experience with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, bid forms, scopes of work, bid comparisons, and change-order reviews.
• Construction Administration: Experience reviewing submittals and RFIs, performing site visits, documenting progress and deficiencies, reviewing payment applications, and resolving field issues.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Preparation of repair drawings and specs.
• Structural calculation design skills.

Job Type: Full-time.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year (bi-weekly pay for 80 hours + hourly beyond 80 hours).

Schedule:

• Standard day shift business/construction hours with occasional extended shifts (8 to 9 hours) based on project needs.
• Approximately 80% of weekly time follows contractor construction schedules.
• Monday to Friday with periodic weekend hours to complete office tasks.

Supplemental pay types:

• Bonus pay (up to twice a year).
• Hourly overtime pay.
• Potential stock opportunity.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work if necessary.
• Primarily in-office (Deerfield Beach).

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Structural, Civil or Architectural Engineering (Required).

Preferred License/Certification Types:

• Registered PE License.
• Florida Special Inspector (Full or Limited).

Willingness to travel:

• 40% to 60% within Southeast Florida region (Required).
