Roofing Sales Specialist
A Roofing Sales Specialist is responsible for selling roof systems to various construction entities like builders, contractors, framers, and developers. This role involves blending technical construction expertise with sales, estimating, client management, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with builders, contractors, framers, and developers
- Acquire new clients through networking, referrals, and prospecting
- Create quotes, bids, and material estimates for roofing projects
- Interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and construction documents
- Collaborate with design engineers and production teams on truss layouts and specifications
- Follow up on bids and engage in pricing/contract negotiations
- Manage client accounts and ensure timely delivery and satisfaction
- Monitor project schedules and resolve any onsite issues as they arise
- Stay informed on building regulations, lumber costs, and industry trends
Required Qualifications
- Background in sales within the construction industry, building materials, lumber, or truss sales preferred
- Understanding of roof truss systems, floor systems, and framing techniques
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction plans
- Excellent communication and negotiating abilities
- Skills in estimating or design software like:
- MiTek
- Alpine
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job locations and meet with clients
