Beach Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, a warm, family-oriented skilled nursing facility (SNF) in Far Rockaway, NY, is seeking a Director of Social Services (DSS) to lead our social services department. Known for a caring, close-knit team where residents consistently praise the kindness of our staff, Beach Gardens is a place where the Director of Social Services (DSS) truly makes a difference every day. Prior nursing home experience is required for this role.
The Director of Social Services (DSS) position is a leadership role at the heart of resident care, advocacy, and family support.

Director of Social Services (DSS) Duties
Oversee the social services department and daily psychosocial care of residents
Complete social service assessments and participate in care planning
Support residents and families through admissions, transitions, and discharge planning
Advocate for resident rights and coordinate community resources
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on resident wellbeing

Salary: $85,000–$95,000 per year

Experience as a Director of Social Services (DSS) or a few years of experience as a Social Worker
Must have experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) / long-term care (LTC) setting
