Job Description Job Title: School Registered Nurse (RN) – Easton, MD Location: Easton, MD Position Type: Full-time, On-site Our school district in Easton, MD is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. As a School RN, you will be responsible for providing healthcare services to students in a 1:1 setting, focusing on meeting their medical needs effectively and ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day. Minimum required experience: 1+ years nursing experience. Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to students with complex medical needs, including those with G‑tubes and tracheostomies, in a 1:1 school setting. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by healthcare providers. Monitor and assess students' health conditions regularly, documenting observations and communicating with healthcare team members, parents, and school staff. Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with specific medical needs, in collaboration with healthcare providers and school personnel. Train and educate school staff on medical procedures, emergency response protocols, and student-specific care plans. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with school policies and state regulations. Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions as needed. Collaborate with other members of the school's multidisciplinary team to support students' overall academic and developmental progress. Participate in meetings, workshops, and professional development activities to enhance nursing knowledge and skills. Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland. Experience working as a nurse in a school setting, preferably in a 1:1 capacity. Proficiency in providing care to students with G‑tubes and tracheostomies. CPR and First Aid certification. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, parents, colleagues, and healthcare providers. Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations and make quick, sound decisions. Understanding of relevant state laws, regulations, and guidelines governing school health services. Willingness to undergo background checks and fulfill other requirements mandated by the school district. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with students with disabilities or special healthcare needs. Additional certifications in pediatric nursing or school nursing.
