What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a First Assist in Cardiovascular (CV) surgical settings, specifically with vein and radial artery harvesting procedures
- Proficiency in using the Terumo system for endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, and intraoperative patient management
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork attitude to coordinate effectively with surgeons and staff
- Ability to adapt to a floating role across multiple hospitals, including Slidell Memorial Hospital and St. Tammany Hospital
- Flexibility to be on-call as required, with availability for 3x12-hour day shifts (07:30 - 16:30)
- Certification as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) or equivalent
- Prior experience in cardiovascular surgery settings
- Familiarity with hospital systems and electronic medical records
- Valid RN license with appropriate state licenses
- Minimum of 2 years of surgical assisting experience, preferably in cardio vascular procedures
- Knowledge of endoscopic vein harvesting techniques and Radial Artery harvesting
- On-call availability is mandatory; flexibility to float between facilities
- Willingness to travel between assigned hospitals as needed
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
