We are hiring a Cook for a fast-paced, high-volume dinner theatre kitchen in Clarksville, IN. This role is ideal for someone with experience in restaurants, catering, or banquets who can produce consistent, high-quality food for large guest counts. At Derby Dinner Playhouse, you’ll help prepare buffet-style meals in a structured, team-oriented kitchen that supports live theatre performances.
Location: Clarksville, IN
Pay: $14–$16 per hour
Schedule: Evenings, weekends, and show nights required
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook buffet-style menu items according to recipes and standards
- Execute high-volume cooking and batch prep
- Assist with pre-show prep to ensure smooth and timely service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
- Follow portion control and quality standards
- Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and labeling
- Work closely with kitchen staff during busy service periods
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
Requirements
- 1-2+ years of cooking experience (restaurant, catering, or banquet preferred)
- Experience with high-volume or batch cooking
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
