Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Surgical Intermediate

Position Information

This position is an auto-offer opportunity within a cardiac surgical intermediate unit. The role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down/PCU.

• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift: Nights, 1900-0700
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 - to be indicated on submission form
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Hours: As required
• Call Requirements: None

Qualifications

• Required Licensure: Current RN License eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only
• Preferred Certifications: N/A
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Step Down/PCU

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 26
• Patient Ratios: 3:1 or 4:1
• Patient Types: Cardiac/Thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory distress, insulin drips
• Equipment: Philips monitors, chest tubes, arterial lines, wound vacs, pacemaker boxes, pacing wires, drains, EKOS, Nicom, BIPAP, Airvo
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): EPIC

Role Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) will utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and coordinating patient care activities with other departments to optimize patient comfort and recovery.
• Maintaining professional accountability for the quality of care provided.
• Ensuring adherence to patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Performing duties in alignment with the organization's mission, values, and service standards.

Working Conditions

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. The position may involve significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance. Exposure to blood and body fluids is a requirement of the role.
