Senior DevOps System Admin

DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and passionate Senior DevOps System Administrator to play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our development and production environments. You will be responsible for the administration, automation, and continuous improvement of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, with a strong focus on GitLab, Kubernetes, and database systems . You will leverage your deep expertise to optimize our workflows, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our development teams.

Day-to-day responsibilities and duties include:

1. Lead the administration, maintenance, and scaling of our GitLab instance, including user management, repository management, CI/CD pipeline configuration, and security hardening.
2. Architect, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot our Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This includes managing nodes, deployments, services, networking, and storage within Kubernetes.
3. Oversee the administration, performance tuning, backup, and recovery of various database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB), ensuring data integrity and availability.
4. Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or other relevant tools to automate software build, test, and deployment processes.
5. Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible to provision and manage infrastructure consistently and efficiently.
6. Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions to proactively identify and resolve system issues.
7. Define and enforce security best practices across our infrastructure and development workflows.
8. Collaborate closely with development teams to understand their infrastructure needs and provide expert guidance and support.
9. Troubleshoot complex system and application issues across the entire stack.
10. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the availability of critical systems.
11. Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
12. Mentor and guide junior team members on DevOps and system administration best practices.
13. Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps trends and technologies, recommending and implementing improvements to our infrastructure and processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants MUST

• must be able to qualify and maintain security clearance.
• have at least 3 years of DevOps System Admin experience and have a good understanding of professional business environments.

• be punctual, responsible, and reliable.
• have good written and verbal communication skills (answering the phone and composing emails in a professional manner).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $142,000 per year excluding bonus and benefits.

Schedule:

• The schedule for this position is project driven and can be highly variable depending on project deadlines and the specific needs of the software development teams.
• Monday to Friday
