And knowing that we have helped make a difference is incredibly fulfilling and inspiring for all of us.Rockwork Engineering is responsible for the structural engineering, coordination, and technical integration of the rockwork elements of themed attractions!You will report into the Manager, Rockwork Engineering.This is a Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.What You Will DoManage the design and engineering of complex rockwork structuresManage technical coordination of rockwork design documents, models, specifications, and basis of design with AR, ST, MEP, Civil, Landscape, Show, Ride, Creative disciplines, and Rockwork Contractor, in consideration of programmatic requirements (Operational Stakeholders).Lead the technical coordination of rockwork design and construction including facilitating meetings and maintaining an IRL (issues resolution log) or similar document.Organize and develop project design criteria, engineering work plans, rockwork schedules, meetings, and work plans for projects of varying complexity.Facilitate quality assurance and control, both of design documentation as well as field construction.Direct project team members on coordination and integration activities related to the technical scope of work; this also includes any 3rd party architecture and engineering consultants.Participate in regularly scheduled project meetings with project team, consultants and contractors.Provide project teams with rockwork design and construction details, rockwork lessons learned, and rockwork standards information to inform rockwork specifications.Monitor work progress and ensure that technical quality, interdisciplinary coordination and production requirements are metAnswer construction bid period questions and respond to and resolve field issues and questions.Provide technical direction to in-house engineers and designers, and to outside consultants in the production of construction contract documents.May lead a small team of rockwork engineers and designers in the production of construction documents for multiple attractions of medium complexity through all phases of designRequired Qualifications & SkillsGraduate of an accredited engineering school with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural EngineeringWorking knowledge of structural engineering including current technologies and codes, with concentration in the areas of steel and concrete structures.Working knowledge of the structural engineering discipline, including industry practices, construction methods and materials, codes, current technology and the preparation and use of contract documents in all phases of design and constructionKnowledge of the use analytical software for structural engineering designA minimum 6 years of work experience in civil, structural and/or project engineeringA minimum of 2 years managing a small team of structural or rockwork engineers and designers in the production of contract documents for constructionConstruction phase experience including the submittal/shop drawing review process and on-site field inspectionsPreferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of structural design programs such as SAP2000, ETABS, RISAProven experience with 3D modeling software: Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Navisworks, BIM360Engineer or Architect in Training certification preferredRegistration as a Professional Engineer in California / Florida is desirableEducationGraduate of an accredited school of engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering requiredAn advanced degree in the structural engineering field is preferredProgression toward professional licensure is desirableAdditional InformationDisney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
