# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry/Stepdown Unit – North Carolina

Start Date: November 23, 2026

Location: Salisbury, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week. Every other weekend required, plus 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays in a 6-week period. No block scheduling permitted. Call and float requirements based on patient census and unit needs.

Highlights:

• High-acuity cardiac telemetry and stroke unit serving as the primary destination for cardiac and cerebrovascular patients
• Fast-paced environment with 78-90 patient turnovers per week, with team lead support for admissions and discharges
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with pre/post cardiac catheterization, pacemaker implantation, ICD placement, stroke care, and cardiac drip management
• Epic (Dimensions) charting system with 36-hour unit orientation provided
• Contract runs through February 27, 2027 (13+ weeks available)
• First-time travelers and local candidates welcome; local rate differential waived

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac telemetry or progressive care experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
• Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry interpretation, cardiac drip titration (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine), and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with central line and peripheral line management, sheath removal, blood product administration, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Comfortable managing 6-patient assignments in a high-turnover environment
• Ability to work flexible schedules without block scheduling; maximum 7 days pre-approved time off
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Completion of 8-10 hours of pre-start online modules (non-billable)
