Behavior Technician - Home-Based

Job Details: Location: Southborough, 01772 MA. Position Type: Per Diem. Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 hourly. Travel Percentage: None. Job Description Summary The Behavioral Technician will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Clients include children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in home, community, clinic, and school settings. The technician will collect data on programs and assist with parent training while working under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities Plan and implement intervention strategies using direct therapy, monitoring and consultation under the supervision of a BCBA. Teach targeted behaviors using specialized techniques that may include reward systems, incidental teaching and pivotal response training. Record and track data from training sessions. Reinforce positive behavior with children on caseload. Communicate effectively (orally and in writing) with administrators, parents and community members. Provide accurate documentation of intervention, goals and objectives. Facilitate transition among agencies, programs, and professionals as service provision changes. Identify emergency situations and determine appropriate action to ensure child safety. Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements. Follow prescribed behavior skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols. Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior. Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols. Communicate progress to parents and caregivers as instructed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Perform other duties as assigned. All Employees Will Exercise necessary cost control measures. Additional Requirements Physical Requirements Hearing and speaking ability required to communicate on the telephone. Vision required for data entry. Reaching required for paper management. Manual dexterity required for operating the computer, photocopier, and telephone. Mobility required for accessing equipment such as photocopier and fax machine. Ability to speak and write English in an understandable manner. Ability to function independently and maintain personal integrity. Flexibility of hours. Psychological Requirements Ability to recognize tasks and perform them independently. Establish a responsible and trustworthy rapport with staff by being punctual, notifying of absence or tardiness in advance, and following through on assigned tasks. Flexibility to adjust to changing work schedules. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment under time constraints. Intellectual Requirements Learn all Constellation Kids policies and procedures. Judgment skills in processing telephone calls. Organizational skills necessary to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Operate all aspects of the computer, photocopier and telephone. Understand and follow written and oral instructions provided by the supervisor. Read, write and type. Qualifications 21 years of age and older. Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited university AND one year of direct relevant experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs. OR an associate’s degree (60 college credits) AND a minimum of two years of direct relevant experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs.
