Senior Medical Science Liaison

Role Regional Medical Science Director (MSL) is a field-based scientific expert who strategically supports the scientific and business objectives of cancer therapeutic areas across the product life cycle. The MSL serves as a primary communicator of Summit Therapeutics science within a geography to healthcare professionals and researchers, with a focus on Immuno-Oncology. The role involves business acumen, clinical expertise, market awareness, and cross-functional collaboration. Depending on therapeutic needs, responsibilities may include clinical development and pipeline support. Responsibilities Develop, execute, and maintain high-impact territory plans, including HCP and Investigator engagement plans aligned with medical objectives and a focus on quality. Support clinical development and research initiatives, including site evaluation, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and investigator-sponsored trials. Identify, access, and develop professional relationships with external Immuno-Oncology experts within the assigned geography. Provide education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and Summit products to healthcare providers and researchers. Monitor and provide insights from relevant scientific meetings in the geography. Maintain self-education on market issues, product knowledge, and new therapeutic areas related to responsibilities; build awareness and relationships in the medical community. Participate in relevant team meetings and country-driven medical affairs activities (e.g., advisory boards, Masterclasses, Roundtables). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute account plans that support scientific and business objectives. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience Doctoral degree in health sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) required. Significant oncology experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements. Minimum 5+ years of solid tumor oncology experience. 5+ years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry experience; 2+ years as a Medical Science Liaison required. Previous pharmaceutical industry experience in a relevant scientific discipline preferred. Proven ability to understand, analyze, and communicate complex scientific concepts; build credible relationships with healthcare professionals. Ability to translate corporate needs into actionable plans; self-motivated to achieve and exceed goals; strong problem-solving and analytic skills; critical thinking; ability to work independently. Meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, and immunization proof. Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time. Proficient in MS Office; experience with electronic document management and review tools; strong computer and database skills; attention to detail and confidentiality; clear and concise communication; excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Compensation and Benefits Pay: $200,000 – $235,000 USD. Actual compensation is based on factors including skill set, experience, location, and may include bonus, stock, benefits, and other variable components.
