GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The IT Helpdesk Technician reports directly to the IT Director and is responsible for providing technical assistance to end-users in a medium-sized business, primarily assisting with computer hardware, software, and systems issues. As the first point of contact for users seeking assistance, this individual would respond to inquiries, diagnose problems, and guide users through solutions. Helpdesk technicians receive requests for assistance via phone, email, online chat, in person, or through the IT ticketing system. They use their technical knowledge to identify the root cause of problems and guide users through the resolution process, knowing when to escalate complex problems to higher-level IT support specialists. Helpdesk technicians can troubleshoot and fix issues remotely using various tools and techniques, using language that is understandable to non-technical users. They may also train end-users on modern technologies or applications. This position does require some travel to other agency sites throughout the service area. MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of general Information Technology or Help desk experience or experience administering enterprise equipment.
• An associate's degree can substitute for the three years of overall experience.
• One year of customer service experience.
• You must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clear driving record.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related field.
• Two (2) years of experience working in computer repair and troubleshooting.
• Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of the practices, principles, and techniques of computer operation, of information systems, of computer software and hardware, of information security policies and procedures, and of local and wide area networks and database administration.
• Working knowledge of Office 365 Admin suite.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory (both on premises and Azure (AD).
• Working knowledge of remote support tools such as Datto RMM, Any Desk and Remote Desktop.
• Knowledge of mobile devices (iOS, Android, and mobile Wi-Fi).
• Knowledge of operating systems: Windows 11, Apple OSX, Linux, and Windows Server.
• Strong analytical, mathematical & problem-solving skills.
• Skill in the use and support of personal computers; in the use of applicable programs and systems, and in troubleshooting information systems.

• Ability to operate information technology systems; to troubleshoot and repair equipment, to communicate effectively, to train others, and supervise the work of others.
• Ability to work under conditions requiring physical stamina and ability to work in a stressful environment.
• Completes documentation as required and reports accurately and timely.
