Seafood Production Worker – Food Processing Facility
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Erecting boxes
- Filling boxes, trays, and bags
- Loading equipment with packaging and/or product
- Weighing product
- Labeling product
- Sorting product
- Portioning product
- Trimming product
- Thawing product
- Palletizing finished product
- Performing other duties as assigned by management to meet production needs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new tasks and work in any area of the plant as needed.
- Prior food processing or manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move product and packaging up to 50 lbs, with assistance for heavier items.
- Work is performed in a seafood processing environment that may be cold, wet, and noisy, and may involve exposure to strong odors.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as production demands.
