Retail Sales Associate

Full time | Reports to Retail Sales Manager

Position Summary

Pool Tech is seeking a Retail Sales Coordinator to support marketing, sales and customer service in its pool and spa retail showroom. The coordinator helps customers select hot tubs, saunas, above ground pools, chemicals, equipment, and accessories; follows up on sales opportunities; and keeps daily retail activity accurate and organized. The position reports to the Retail Sales Manager and works closely with the service and installation teams to give customers smooth experience from purchase through delivery and ongoing care.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, learn their needs, explain product options, prepare quotes, and complete sales and transactions accurately.
• Follow up promptly with showroom, phone, website, and referral leads; document customer conversations and next steps in company systems.
• Coordinate product availability, orders, delivery or installation details, and customer communication with the Retail Sales Manager and other departments.
• Perform water testing, explain results, and recommend appropriate water care products in accordance with company procedures and product guidance.
• Maintain current product knowledge and explain features, care requirements, warranties, and financing options when applicable and approved by the company.
• Help maintain attractive displays, pricing labels, stocked shelves, and a clean, organized showroom and pool park.
• Assist with receiving, inventory counts, stock rotation, and identifying low stock or discrepancies for the Retail Sales Manager.
• Handle routine customer questions and concerns professionally; escalate pricing exceptions, complex issues, and complaints to the Retail Sales Manager.
• Follow company procedures for point of sale, cash handling, customer records, chemical safety, and store opening or closing as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in retail sales, customer service, or a related customer-facing role.
• Strong communication, organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
• Comfort learning pool and spa products, water care procedures, and retail systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively across retail, service, and installation teams.
• Ability to work an in-person retail schedule, including evenings, and Saturdays during peak season as scheduled.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience selling hot tubs, pools, saunas, chemicals, or home improvement products.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, customer relationship software, inventory tools, or water testing software.
• Pool and spa industry training or Certified Pool Operator certification.

Work Schedule and Compensation

Full-time, in-person position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Retail hours may include Saturdays during peak season.
