Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in Bangor, Maine. This role involves providing exceptional maternal and newborn care in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting, with duties including labor support, postpartum care, and neonatal resuscitation. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Bangor, Maine
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: RN certification with BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), and MOAB Certification. At least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery and completion of at least 1 assignment at a facility with a Level III NICU.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with titrate Pitocin, fetal scalp electrodes, cervical exams, epidural assistance, insulin, magnesium and Pitocin management, neonatal resuscitation, and lactation support.
• Additional Information: The role involves a rotation schedule with weekend work (at least 4 out of 8 weekends), no mandatory call, and rotation during holidays. Orientation includes one day with HR and preceptor, one day of operating room training, and one night shift preceptorship.
• Support on Unit: 24/7 availability of anesthesia, house supervisor, respiratory therapist, OB provider, and backup midlevel providers. Multiple support staff including unit secretaries, bedside fetal monitoring technology, IV pumps, and medication dispensing systems.
• Technology/Equipment: EMR system is Cerner; fetal monitoring via Fetal Link; IV pumps- Alaris; medication dispensing- Pyxis. Floating to Mother-Baby service is possible, limited to antepartum, postpartum, or occasional newborn nursery.
• Additional Notes: Scrub attire is navy and provided on-site; free parking is available. Orientation and training are provided prior to start.
