Compensation: $21–$26/hour | Status: Full-Time | Onsite

A Day in the Life

It’s 7:00 a.m. in our climate-controlled facility at 3411 Woodhead Dr, Northbrook, IL 60062. You unlock the tool crib, scan the first requests in the inventory system, and prep CNC tooling for the morning rush. Operators step up to your window; you verify each request, issue tools, and record every movement—nothing leaves untracked. Mid-morning, you spot wear on a precision instrument, arrange calibration, and flag a low-stock item for reorder. After lunch, you tidy the crib, run a quick audit, and collaborate with maintenance to schedule reconditioning. By close, the floor is humming, your shelves are organized, and every tool is accounted for.

What You’ll Own

• Issue and receive tools, equipment, and supplies for production and maintenance teams.
• Maintain 100% accurate records of tool check-in/check-out and update inventory systems in real time.
• Inspect tools for wear/damage or calibration needs; coordinate repair, replacement, or reconditioning.
• Organize and label tooling in designated storage for fast, reliable access.
• Track inventory levels and proactively communicate shortages or reorder needs.
• Assist with cycle counts and audits of tooling and consumables.
• Keep the tool crib clean, safe, and audit-ready.
• Uphold company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Identify process improvements that enhance efficiency and control costs.

Qualifications

Required

• 1–3 years in tool crib operations, inventory control, or manufacturing support.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fundamental knowledge of hand tools, machine tools, and industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with Solar System Tool Management System, Tools Balancers, and Redo Matic Equipment.
• Exceptional organization, accuracy, and service-focused communication.

Preferred

• Inspection experience within aerospace, aviation, automotive, or composites manufacturing.
• Familiarity with composites and thermoset materials.

Work Environment

This role is primarily based in a tool crib/stockroom with frequent interaction on the production floor. Expect typical manufacturing noise and occasional dust/debris. The facility is climate-controlled and equipped with state-of-the-art CNC machinery. You’ll stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work around composite dust (PPE provided). Some flexibility for shift coverage may be needed.
