Staff Office Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)A Staff Office Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN)/Physician/Practitioner, performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patients. Assists in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation with consideration of the aging process, human development stages, and cultural diversity as appropriate to licensure/certification. Assists in the care and preparation of clinic/procedural patients in various clinic settings, minor treatment area. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.Essential Duties And Responsibilities:Collects and documents pertinent health data using appropriate assessment techniques using a systematic and ongoing process utilizing interventions appropriated for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.Delivers safe, high quality patient care.Coordinates care of the clinic patients, including scheduling of patients for procedures and follow up appointments.Promotes a therapeutic relationship with patients and families.Assists with preauthorization of procedures as needed.Makes clinical decisions and sets priorities related to workload management based on clinical knowledge and individual patient needs.Gives appropriate pre-procedure and post-procedure instructions to patients.Provides teaching material to patients and significant others pertinent to their situation and documents in the clinic record.Assist with outpatient office procedures and follow-up care.Prepares minor treatment areas as required for specific procedures, as appropriate.Assist with washing and decontamination of all instruments.Cleans and prepares instruments for sterilization, as needed.Ensures patients' demographic information noted in EHR is correct.Utilizes ongoing assessment data and notifies physician/surgeon of changes in patient condition in a timely and appropriate manner.Check and maintain appropriate inventory for pharmacy and central supply items.Follow-up phone calls to patientsLiaison fielding patient calls/questions.Other duties may be assigned and are subject to change with or without prior notice.Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.Assists with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of work and storage areas.Professional Requirements:Supports and promotes an environment conducive to the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital.Adheres to the dress code, appearance is neat and clean.Reports to work on time and as scheduled.Wears identification while on duty.Displays accountability for actions and decisions for the total patient care process.Good mental health and emotional maturity.Good personal grooming and hygiene.Ability to acquire and maintain current knowledge in nursing practice.Displays knowledge of sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and procedures.Demonstrates knowledge and practices of Universal Precautions.Recognizes and respects the individual emotional, social, and cultural needs of Residents including their religious beliefs.Displays thoroughness and accuracy of work.Always preserves the dignity and respect of all patients.Possession of a genuine interest and concern for patient population that is served.Accepts reassignment to other units if necessary.Follow the expected work practices.Works in a safe manner, including reporting unsafe equipment or environment.Well organized, accepts assignments willingly and accomplishes them quickly.Anticipates problems and suggests solutions.Help as needed with duties not specifically assigned.Represents the organization in a positive and professional mannerWorks steadily and always stays productive.Ability to work well with a diverse team.Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.Ability to concentrate.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Maintain knowledge and skills necessary to communicate, teach and interact with patients, visitors, and staff in all age groups.Completes and maintains all required education and/or training requirements.Complies with HIPAA regulations and always maintains patient confidentiality.Follows and maintains all lawful safety, health requirements, and regulations, and follow protocols for required protective equipment (PPE).Promptly reports safety issues, job-related injury, or illness, near misses, etc. in SafetyZone.Follows Hillsboro Health Standards of Behavior.Requirements:Education and/or Experience:Graduate of accredited school of licensed practical nursing (applicable for LPN).Ability to pass specific competencies for this position, preferred.Proficient oral and written communication.1 year's office experience preferred.Certificates and Licenses:Hold and maintain LPN Illinois Licensure, as applicable.Basic Life Support (BLS) required or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.Physical Demands:Physical demands of the position, including vision, hearing, repetitive motion, and environment are required.
