Job Title: Joist Shop Welder - 2nd Shift

Job Description

Join a dynamic team in the joist shop where you will be responsible for operating weld machines and working in a collaborative assembly line to produce high-quality joists. This position offers an opportunity to grow your skills in welding and machinery operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate weld machines and monitor machinery to ensure proper function.

• Work collaboratively in an assembly line to produce joists.

• Read and interpret schematics for assembling joists.

• Participate in welding classes after initial machinery training.

• Operate laser machines and other equipment as needed.

• Perform cleaning, sweeping, and material handling tasks.

• Conduct touch-up painting with standard non-spray paint.

Essential Skills

• Experience with MIG, TIG, or Stick welding is a plus.

• Ability to read and interpret schematics.

• Familiarity with operating machinery and tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in trades or industrial environments is preferred.

• Strong attendance and reliability are crucial.

• Ability to work in a heavy industrial atmosphere with exposure to dirt, metal, and loud noises.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing plant dedicated to fabricating structural steel for bridge work. The environment can be hot in summer and cold in winter, with mandatory Saturday shifts. Safety training is required before operating machinery.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Point of Rocks, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.17 - $24.17/hr.
