Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840–$1,980
• Location: Spokane, Washington 99204
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• End Date: February 15, 2027
• Schedule: Five 8-hour evening shifts per week
• Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
• Call: Approximately once per week, including one weekend every six weeks; weekend coverage is on-call only
• Healthcare Setting: Main operating room within a Level II trauma and Level II pediatric trauma setting
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Float: May float to an outpatient surgical center or nearby affiliated facility as assigned
• Charting System: Epic

Certified Surgical Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of operating room surgical technologist experience
• Current NBSTSA certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Current BLS certification
• Washington license or compact license in hand at submission, as applicable
• Demonstrated neuro surgical experience; neuro experience is required for consideration
• Proficiency scrubbing a wide variety of cardiovascular procedures
• Experience with general, orthopedic, gynecologic, urologic, pediatric, ENT, ophthalmic, plastic, trauma, transplant, and robotic procedures
• Ability to work effectively with patients across the full age spectrum
• Two professional references covering at least one year of recent experience within the last three years

Operating Room Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Scrub and support a broad range of surgical procedures in a fast-paced main operating room
• Provide competent support for neuro, cardiovascular, orthopedic, general, gynecologic, urologic, pediatric, robotic, transplant, ENT, ophthalmic, plastic, and trauma cases
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instrumentation, supplies, equipment, and case carts according to procedure requirements
• Maintain sterile technique and participate in surgical counts, specimen handling, labeling, and universal protocol/time-out procedures
• Safely operate and document equipment while following radiation and laser safety practices when applicable
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, nurses, and interdisciplinary support teams to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Support cardiovascular procedures and demonstrate adaptability across multiple specialties
• Float to designated surgical areas when needed and participate in assigned call coverage
