Executive Director: Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority

The Executive Director serves as the chief economic development professional and administrative officer of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority, a public agency that serves as the lead coordinator of economic development activities for the County of Muskingum and City of Zanesville, Ohio. The Executive Director is appointed by and works under the direction of the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing economic development plans, managing public infrastructure projects, providing administrative support, managing the community's enterprise zone tax incentive program, marketing and promoting Muskingum County as a business location, managing the finances of the organization, seeking out and administering grants, collaborating on workforce development strategies, preparing correspondence and analytical documents, supervising and evaluating authority staff, communicating with various stakeholders, conducting research and analyzing data, identifying and targeting businesses for recruitment, representing the community at various events, comprehending and making inferences from reports, developing and maintaining relationships with various parties, and performing other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, ten years of economic development experience, knowledge of local economic development principles, knowledge of business concerns and relocation needs, ability to establish working relationships, knowledge of public relations and marketing, knowledge of community plans and economic needs, knowledge of private sector financing, knowledge of state and local government operations, ability to plan and coordinate, ability to prepare and present reports, excellent accountability and decision-making ability, excellent work history and attendance record, and proven relevant results.
