Talent Development Specialist

Since 2013, our site Unither Manufacturing LLC. in Rochester, NY, specializes in the manufacture of Blow‑Fill‑Seal, Liquid Stick‑Packs, pharmaceutical bottles, tablets and capsules, employing over 360 staff. Your Role Reporting to the Talent Development Manager, the Talent Development Specialist collaborates with departmental and business resources to identify performance gaps and learning needs, designs, develops, and deploys training solutions, and supports GMP site training activities such as onboarding and qualification. The Specialist manages the Learning Management System, prepares and reports on training activities, and acts as a backup for day‑to‑day manager responsibilities. Essential Duties / Responsibilities Creation, delivery and coordination of site learning activities. Conduct needs assessments to determine performance gaps and appropriate training solutions. Work with subject matter experts to identify developmental needs and create a strategy. Create engaging learning activities (instructor‑led and eLearning) and compelling course content. Apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design. Develop and maintain learning content, materials, programs and resources. Support company onboarding strategy and help manage the Learning Management System. Maintain knowledge of performance management, instructional design, adult learning principles, leadership development, learning technologies, etc. Facilitate individual development of employees, including leveraging individual development plans. Participate in creating and delivering leadership development activities for site managers and supervisors. Develop and maintain business relationships at all levels, including mid‑ and senior‑level management. Partner with the Talent Development Manager to update, implement, facilitate and manage the site Trainer Certification program and standards. Assist with site onboarding and new employee training for GDP areas. Work extended hours as business needs dictate. Complete other assigned projects. Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Learning Studies, Education, Psychology or a related field. Proven expertise in designing engaging and effective learning content and Instructional Design principles. Experience delivering live training sessions (preferred). Certification in Instructional Design, Training & Development, or related field is a plus. Leadership Development experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Microsoft Office Suite skills/knowledge/experience. Experience designing learning content and programs (Instructor‑Led and eLearning). Experience using content development applications (e.g., Articulate, Vyond). Proficiency in Learning Management Systems and/or other training applications. Ability to present and train for employee levels. Physical Requirements / Environment Standing/Walking 40% of the time; Sitting 60% of the time. Able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally. Must be able to stand extended periods when delivering classroom training and workshops. Normal manufacturing and office environment. May work in an environment with variable but moderately high noise levels; hearing protection recommended. Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, and other protective items as required in cGMP areas. Scope of Decision‑Making Decisions require basic/routine analytical judgment. Plan and perform diversified duties requiring knowledge of a particular field and use of a wide range of procedures. Exercises judgment in analysis of facts or conditions to determine actions within guidelines or standard practice. Level of Supervision Provided Individual contributor, not responsible for the work of others. Compensation and Benefits Salary: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 USD per year. The compensation range represents the minimum and maximum for this role; individual salaries are determined by market, education, experience, qualifications and internal equity. 100% employer‑paid medical premiums (annual value $2,000–$6,000+). 401(k) contributions: 6% match plus an additional 4% company‑funded contribution.
