NOC Engineer

Job Title

Proactive and independent technology enthusiast who performs a variety of tier I technical support responsibilities, requiring a working knowledge of information technology and desktop support. You are a skilled communicator on all levels and dedicated to providing top-notch customer service. Your meticulous attention to detail is shown through your timekeeping, documentation, and execution of the technical work.

Schedule

This role follows a rotating overnight shift schedule consisting of 12-hour shifts. Team members will work alternating weeks of 3 and 4 days.

Week 1: Sunday–Tuesday, 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM MST

Week 2: Saturday–Tuesday, 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM MST

The schedule rotates on a bi-weekly basis.

Skills and Responsibilities

You know how to:

• Provide excellent client support via telephone and e-mail including the return of both customer and internal calls, emails and inquiries with urgency.
• Effectively address system alerts generated by NexusTek's monitoring systems.
• Maintain advanced administrative competencies of all NOC tools and products including, but not limited to backup, disaster recovery, AV, spam, patching solutions, DNS, SSL-Certs, DRaaS, FWaaS, onboarding, and offboarding.
• Monitor Security alerts and follow documented processes to investigate, communicate, take mitigating action, and escalate.
• Perform root cause analysis to completion and resolution.
• Maintain comprehensive notes in ConnectWise and update cases as needed until resolved.
• Identify alerts that can be tuned to be more valuable and generate minimal disruption.
• Identify and propose new ideas for improving department effectiveness.
• Own and manage escalated support cases.
• Perform automation and scripting.

Troubleshooting will require skills in some or all of the following technologies:

• Backup and disaster recovery
• AV solutions
• Spam solutions
• Patching solutions
• DNS
• SSL-Certs
• DRaaS
• FWaaS
• Windows Server
• Office 365
• Multisite/stretched datacenter environments
• MSP applications like ConnectWise, N-Able, and IT Glue desirable

One or more of the following certifications may be required:

• CompTIA Network+ and/or Security+ (or comparable)
• Microsoft Entry Level Certification: Windows Server or Azure

Pay and Benefits

This is a full-time position located in the United States and performed remotely with no travel.

Estimated Starting Salary/Wage Range: $26.00 to $28.00 hourly, less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis (The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company's discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure [for existing employees] skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role. Note that the majority of individuals in the position will fall in the low to mid-level of this scale; the upper end of this pay scale is offered only in exceptional circumstances and/or for unusually qualified candidates.)
