Supervisor, Production I 1st Shift

Overview Barnes Aerospace East Hartford is seeking a dynamic, goal‑oriented individual to play an integral role in manufacturing operations. The right candidate will supervise and coordinate employees engaged in machining and producing precision and complex parts to meet customer requirements in a fast‑paced environment. Core Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate workers engaged in machining and producing precision and complex parts to meet schedules for the various operations supporting customer requirements. Lead performance management, interview and selection of prospective employees, and maintain time and production records. Manage consumable spending, delivery metrics, capacity planning, risk assessment, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE). Meet or exceed production and quality requirements for the business. Drive continuous improvement via Barnes Enterprise System (BES) principles and practices. Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment, ensuring equipment is operated and maintained per TPM specifications. Anticipate and troubleshoot problems with orders and/or equipment; collaborate with other production supervisors and cross‑functional team members for resolution. Ensure that established policies, rules, and procedures are followed and enforce safety regulations. Establish, communicate, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly objectives for employees. Oversee and promote safe use of equipment and overall safety culture. Embrace Zone Leadership safety program. Coordinate production efforts with supervision and other shifts or business units to ensure a smooth transition. Anticipate and resolve problems based on what is best for the customer and the division. Act with integrity and the highest ethical behavior, demonstrating Barnes’ values and balancing consistency with flexibility and willingness to adapt to new ideas in the face of new information. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or lead position; aerospace manufacturing experience preferred. Team player with the ability to motivate or inspire the team to drive and achieve key operating initiatives. Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with ERP systems desired. Excellent communication and proven positive employee‑relations skills. Education Requirements BA or BS in a technical field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
