CT Technologist - Supervisor

Position: CT Associate (Radiology) Location: 36317 Advocate Christ Medical Center – CT Status: Full‑time, 40 hours per week, benefits eligible. Schedule: Day shift with flexibility (8:30–5:00 or 9:00–5:30, Monday–Friday). Pay Range: $41.10–$61.65. Responsibilities Coordinate CT activities to support patient care management. Perform time and attendance bi‑weekly for staff. Coordinate all outpatient and inpatient exams and procedures, communicating with ancillary departments and nursing. Check all requisitions, ensuring tests are ordered correctly and entered into the Radiology Information System; provide advice on technical standards per procedure. Consult with ordering physicians and radiologists. Ensure effective documentation and communication of patient/exam information. Monitor department productivity and work functions; promote staff development and competency to meet demands; plan cross‑training for associates; schedule staff and ensure utilization. Ensure adherence to department and hospital policies and procedures by CT staff. Develop and/or revise protocols to meet American College of Radiology standards and DNV requirements. C.T. Procedures Perform computerized tomography procedures in accordance with policies, procedures, and filming requirements approved by the Medical Director and Manager of Radiology Operations. Obtain patient history and relevant information; document appropriately. Perform venipuncture and administer contrast material as prescribed by the radiologist. Monitor patient’s condition during all procedures. Schedule patient exams when necessary. Distribute oral contrast and preparation information to patients. Perform advanced imaging and post‑processing. Ensure proper billing and coding of procedures. Assume on‑call responsibilities. Training & Competency Develop competency criteria for equipment and exams. Ensure all staff participate in continuing education and stay current with equipment and procedures. Seek learning opportunities to stay current with industry trends. Work with radiologists to review and revise department scanning protocols. Equipment Maintenance Ensure proper use of equipment; notify the Service Engineer and Manager of any malfunction. Perform quality assurance testing on all CT equipment and maintain records. Participate in acquiring American College of Radiology accreditation for the CT department; ensure timely submission of applications and images for ongoing compliance. Ensure work areas are safe, sanitary, and well maintained. Assist with evaluation and purchase of new capital equipment. Inventory Management Check expiration dates of supplies weekly. Maintain supplies on the biopsy cart. Advise the Materials Manager of needed supplies and appropriate par levels. Education & Experience Five years of experience in CT, Associate or Certificate of Radiologic Technology, plus 1 hour annually in stroke care. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer relations skills. Excellent organizational skills. Licenses & Certifications ARRT Registration, IDNS License, CPR Certification, CT Registration. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Knowledge of all areas of the department; exposure to radiation and hazardous materials; ability to wear a lead apron; may be required to lift or move patients (up to 35 pounds without assistance; higher weights require patient handling equipment and additional staff); may be exposed to infectious diseases.
