Orthopedic Surgeon – Joint Replacement (MD/DO) Position Summary The Orthopedic Joint Replacement Surgeon provides comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for patients with degenerative and traumatic conditions affecting the hip, knee, and other major joints. This role focuses on primary and revision joint arthroplasty, perioperative management, and long-term functional outcomes, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients with degenerative joint disease, arthritis, and joint-related musculoskeletal conditions Perform primary and revision joint replacement procedures, including hip and knee arthroplasty, consistent with training and privileges Utilize minimally invasive, robotic-assisted, or advanced surgical techniques as appropriate Provide non-operative management including injections, physical therapy planning, and medical optimization Manage perioperative and postoperative care, including complications and recovery planning Participate in emergency and on‑call orthopedic coverage as required Interpret diagnostic studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and other imaging Collaborate with anesthesiology, hospitalists, physical therapy, nursing, and case management teams Educate patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, and expected outcomes Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives Supervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, or trainees as applicable Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency program Fellowship training in adult reconstruction or joint replacement surgery Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Orthopedic Surgery Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure DEA registration or eligibility Skills and Competencies Expertise in primary and revision joint arthroplasty Strong clinical judgment and advanced surgical skills Ability to manage complex orthopedic cases and comorbid patients Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities Commitment to evidence‑based practice, quality improvement, and patient safety Work Environment Hospital operating rooms, outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and inpatient units Call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays as required Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures Manual dexterity and physical stamina for operative cases Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for operative and clinical care Must maintain state certification and/or licensure. Must be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on the location of the practice to which you are assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr
