Our golden rule: "The customer is the most important person in all our stores."Job Purpose:The Assistant manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, in such a manner as to ensure that the shift contributes to the increased profitability of the store and to assist the manager in management functions. An Assistant Manager must be willing to accept a promotion and assume the responsibilities of a store manager upon completion of training programs and as an opening is available. (The option to relocate when there is an opening is negotiable.)Job Duties and Responsibilities:General ManagementGives all customers prompt and courteous service, which includes using the gasoline intercom to greet customers and adhering to Best In Class standardsObserves shift operating hours at all times as assigned by the Store Manager including helping to fill shiftsWork the store manager's days off as well as at least two (2) evening shifts per week. We want to have our strongest associates in the store during peak hours.Performs specific tasks as assigned by the Store ManagerEffectively communicates with store associates and managementFollows all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances pertaining to the operation of the storeProvides a role model of conduct for other associates in the storeEnsures Store Manager is made aware of all sales, cash, or operating discrepanciesEnsure all associates are in proper uniform and providing prompt, courteous customer serviceBookkeepingCompletes a shift change report at the beginning and end of the shift according to company policyProperly records all hours worked by clocking in/out on the computer at the store.Rings all sales as discussed in the Policy Manual and Basic Training ManualAccurately records all over rings and refundsCompletes daily paperwork and makes store deposits as directed by the Store ManagerHuman ResourcesTreats all associates with dignity and respect and uses the proper personnel management techniquesAdvises Store Manager of any personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performanceSecurityEnsures all associate shift procedures are followedEnsures a safe shopping and working environmentEnsures cash and merchandise in the store are handled in a secure manner according to company policyEnsures vendor check- in procedures are followed per company policyMerchandisingKeeps coolers, drink boxes, store shelves, and displays fully stocked and fronted at all timesProperly cleans and maintains equipment and readies high margin products such as coffee, fountain drinks, etc. as directed by Store ManagerUses correct pricing as listed on the DSD or grocery book for all merchandiseMaintenanceEnsures store appearance reflects company expectations and standardsFloors are kept clean, waxed and buffed to a high gloss shineStore windows and all glass are cleanParking lot is swept daily, kept clean and in good repairEnsures rest rooms are clean and in good working orderReports any maintenance problems that cannot be corrected immediately without assistance to the Store ManagerEnsures all food service areas are kept clean and follows all sanitation proceduresSafetyEnsures that lifting procedures are followed, per company policyEnsures that ladders are properly usedEnsures that lifting procedures are followed per company policyEnsures that wet floor signs are used, per company policyReports accidents promptly to store manager and corporate officeHuck's Bucks Loyalty AppActively promote the Huck's Bucks Loyalty app to customersCommunicate to customers the benefits of signing up and using the appMonitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discountsAssist customers on how to sign up and use the app for discounts and redemptionBenefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experience.Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurances, ESOP, 401K with match, paid time off, and paid holidays.Opportunities for career advancement and professional development within a growing company.Employee discounts for food and fuel.The Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities list is incomplete but is merely the most accurate list for the current job.
