Job Opportunity

Position: Seasonal Contract RN - Labor and Delivery

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a seasonal contract position in Labor and Delivery. This role is a 13-week commitment, with shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, including alternating weekends. There are no call requirements for this position.

Unit Information

  • Location: North Austin, TX
  • Unit Size: 32 beds
  • Staffing: Approximately 150 staff members
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2
  • Type of Staff:

    • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 1 Co-Charge Nurse, RNs
    • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 1 Co-Charge Nurse, RNs
Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
  • Must Have:

    • Experience in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
    • Current ACLS, BLS, NRP certifications
    • Competence in SVE and C-Section circulation
    • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in Labor and Delivery
  • Preferred Skills:

    • Competency in internal monitor placement
    • Previous experience in a Level IV unit (high volume)
Typical Procedures Performed
  • Spontaneous Vaginal Deliveries (SVD)
  • Cerclages
  • C-Sections
  • Trial of Labor After Cesarean (TOLAC)

Work Environment

The unit promotes a collaborative team atmosphere. We value a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with others. The dress code for this position requires navy blue scrubs; t-shirts are not acceptable, and only solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts may be worn.
