ANNOUNCMENT OF POSITION VACANCYABOUT THIS POSITIONSummary:The Chemistry Instructor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate chemistry lecture and laboratory courses. The applicant will be expected to primarily teach lower division courses, such as Chemistry and Society, Principles of Chemistry, and General Chemistry Lab, with the potential to teach upper division laboratory courses, such as Organic Chemistry Lab. As part of the standard teaching load, the instructor will be responsible for some of the organization and preparation of their lab courses.The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; courses may be assigned as in-person, online, hybrid, or via distance delivery modalities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.Teach 12 credit hours each semesterUtilize D2L for course syllabus and grade bookWorking with other instructors during lab preparationPrepare and grade assignments, quizzes, and examsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Minimum Qualifications Required:A Master’s Degree or PhD in Chemistry or closely related discipline by Fall 2026Ability and desire to effectively teach undergraduate chemistry lecture and lab coursesEnthusiasm for working with and inspiring undergraduate students at all levelsAbility to communicate and work collaboratively and collegially with colleaguesPreferred Qualifications:Experience teaching chemistry lecture and laboratory coursesExperience working with diverse populations and cultivating an inclusive classroom environmentSalary:$51,000Commensurate with education and experience.
