With 35,000+ surgical cases performed across the system annually throughout 15 ORS , the surgical services department plays a critical role in delivering complex, high‑acuity care to patients across the Central Valley. A rich case mix includes orthopedics, spine, neurosurgery, cardiovascular, general, GYN, urology, ENT, and trauma, guided by ERAS pathways and precision perioperative workflows. As a Perioperative Assistant Nurse Manager, the role supports safe throughput, accurate scheduling, OR utilization optimization, and seamless interdepartmental collaboration. Reporting to the RN Manager of Perioperative Services , the Assistant Nurse Manager Operating Room partners closely with a Perioperative Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialists to champion evidence‑based practice. As a Surgical Services Assistant Nurse Manager, key accountabilities include staffing and daily assignments, coaching and mentoring, policy and regulatory readiness, and surgeon/anesthesia collaboration to optimize block time and workflows.
