Other Job Titles Patient Care Tech (PCT), C.N.A, and M.A. (Medical Assistant) Employment Type Part time Shift 12 Hour Day Shift (7am-7pm) Department and Location 6 North PCU, Trinity Health Ann Arbor Minimum Rate of Pay 16.29 PLUS Daily PAY Position Purpose The PCT, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care. Shift Availability Shifts available: 7am-7pm. Every other weekend and holiday per year required for full‑time and part‑time team members. Status Available Part‑time Required Education / Licensure High school diploma or GED Minimum one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long‑term) or successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course. Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program. What You Will Do Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success. The PCT assists patients in completing ADLs including bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices, and feeding and menu selection. A PCT collects and sends specimens including blood and blood cultures, inserts and removes peripheral IV catheters, and records patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation requirements. The 6N PCU Unit provides care to patients with complex medical comorbidities that require vigilant monitoring, thoughtful assessment, and timely clinical interventions to achieve their treatment goals. Pulmonary disease and sepsis are commonly seen along with complications from diabetes, cardiac disease, and diabetes. The 6N PCU is a 12‑bed unit.
