Certified Medical Assistant

Description We are seeking a motivated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (Oral Pathology) to join our Oral Pathology team. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. This position requires a combination of administrative and clinical duties, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in our clinic. You will assist with procedures, manage patient records and provide patients with information on procedures, post‑care instructions and biopsy results. Job Type Full‑time Competitive Pay & Benefits Medical/Dental/Vision Paid Personal Time Paid Holidays 401K Employer Paid STD/LTD/Life Work Hours Mon–Fri: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Occasional overtime required) Work Location Westerville (Cooper Road) Essential Functions Maintain general appearance, cleanliness and stock in examination rooms, procedure rooms, and instrument processing room. Clean and sterilize medical instruments and examination rooms according to infection control protocols, restock supplies and prepare rooms for a safe, clean and organized environment. Instruct patients regarding appropriate preparation for certain diagnostic tests and procedures. Communicate biopsy results to patients, providing a clear explanation of findings and recommended treatment plans, offering emotional support to educate the patient on their condition. Aid physician in scalpel biopsies and CO2 laser ablation by preparing procedural trays and assisting with oral retraction as indicated, followed by precise documentation of treatment site(s) and surgical narrative(s). Takes baseline vital signs and patient history. Evaluates new patient charts prepared by front desk. Answer incoming phone calls, assist in patient call backs and handle prescriptions under direction of RN/MD. Professionally greet all patients and escort them to clinical areas. Manage EHR desktop and alerts/flags. Provide discharge instruction/education to patients and review handouts with patients. Assist other members of the clinical team with all patient care activities. Requirements Skills/Experience Qualified Applicant should have at least 1 year experience in a medical office environment. Dental office experience preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Knowledge of GE-Centricity practice management software and EHR beneficial but not required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment. Ability to operate a multi‑line telephone system. Must know sterile technique. Adheres to all HIPAA privacy and security regulations and guidelines.
