Part‑time Police Officer – Prospect Heights Police Department The City of Prospect Heights is looking to fill a part‑time police officer position. The Prospect Heights Police Department consists of 23 full‑time and 4 part‑time sworn positions. The position provides department‑issued gun, uniform & vest; flexible hours up to 18 hours a week; Thursday‑Sunday, 1‑2 days a week; excellent training; and access to an on‑site gym. Qualifications US Citizen Valid Driver’s License Not less than 21 years of age at time of employment Vision correctable to 20/20 in both eyes Able to read/write in English Pass medical exam including drug screening Possesses substantially equivalent skills and abilities as a City Prospect Heights Police Officer who has completed the probationary period, as determined by the City Taken and passed any examinations as the Commission deems necessary to determine fitness for duty as a Police Officer Completed an in‑state full‑time Basic Law Enforcement Training Course or attended an out‑of‑state course and received a waiver from the ILETSB Be a certified police officer in good standing, having been certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board under Section8.1 of the Illinois Police Training Act (50 ILCS705/8.1), and Currently working as a full‑time police officer in good standing for an Illinois law‑enforcement agency; or has left his/her agency in good standing Special Requirements Please include the following documents: Current resume Copy of your birth certificate Copy of your high school diploma or GED certificate Copy of your U.S. Military DD‑214 form, if applicable Copy of your college or university degree(s) or transcript(s), if applicable Copy of your certificate of completion of Illinois Basic Law Enforcement Academy training City of Prospect Heights Application for Employment Email to: View email address on click.appcast.io OR Mail to: Prospect Heights Police Department Deputy Chief Mark Pufundt, 14 E.
