Role Overview
Based onsite in Warren, MI, this role leads the design, standardization, and lifecycle support of plant control systems aligned to GM standards (GCCS or FACS). You will engineer Rockwell PLC solutions, evolve SCADA (Ignition preferred), and integrate Beckhoff EtherCAT networks while building robust soft automation standards.
Core Accountabilities- Engineer, program, commission, and troubleshoot Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley PLC platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix) using Studio 5000.
- Implement GM controls methodologies (GCCS/FACS) across both greenfield and legacy equipment.
- Convert and update legacy logic and documentation to current, GM‑aligned practices.
- Create, document, and maintain soft automation assets: reusable logic, templates, and naming schemes.
- Architect, configure, and sustain SCADA solutions—preferably using Ignition.
- Integrate Beckhoff hardware and manage EtherCAT communications across PLC, HMI, and SCADA layers.
- Administer and support industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT) and coordinate with IT/OT peers.
- Interpret, redline, and revise electrical schematics, I/O listings, and related controls documents.
- Provide hands‑on support during installation, debugging, launch, and production operations.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, quality teams, and integrators to drive uptime, safety, and system commonality.
