Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced 6G Pipe Welder for a premier manufacturing client in Catoosa. This position is responsible for performing high-quality pipe welding using TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and Flux Core (FCAW) welding processes while meeting strict quality standards and code requirements.

The ideal candidate has extensive pipe welding experience, excels at TIG welding, and consistently produces code-quality welds in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Required Experience & Skills
• Minimum 2 years of TIG (GTAW) welding experience required
• Previous pipe welding experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment
• Experience performing 6G pipe welding
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to successfully pass required welding qualification tests
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform pipe welding using TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and Flux Core (FCAW) welding processes
• Weld pipe in multiple positions, including 6G
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding specifications
• Produce high-quality welds that meet company, customer, and industry standards
• Inspect completed welds for quality, penetration, and workmanship
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety procedures, welding standards, and fabrication requirements
• Meet production schedules while maintaining strict quality expectations

Weld Test Requirements

Candidates must successfully complete the following:

3G Plate Test
• Open Root MIG Weld
• Flux Core Fill and Cap
• Must pass visual inspection before advancing to the pipe test

6G Pipe Test
• 2-inch Schedule 160 Pipe
• TIG Root Pass
• Flux Core Fill and Cap

Testing Schedule
• Pipe welding tests are conducted in the morning only
• Testing typically requires approximately 4 hours to complete

Preferred Qualifications
• Previous ASME pipe welding experience
• Experience working in heavy industrial, oil & gas, or pressure piping fabrication environments
• Knowledge of welding codes and inspection requirements
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high production standards

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in multiple welding positions throughout the shift
• Ability to safely operate welding equipment while wearing required PPE
• Comfortable working around heavy steel, welding fumes, sparks, heat, and industrial machinery

Work Environment
• Heavy industrial manufacturing and pipe fabrication facility
• Exposure to welding equipment, heavy steel materials, overhead cranes, heat, sparks, and fabrication machinery
• Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, precision, and quality workmanship
