Wound/Skin And Ostomy Care Position

Join our team that supports wound/skin and ostomy care throughout the inpatient hospital setting. This position will provide inpatient care and management of the wound and ostomy patient.

This is a part time 0.3 FTE position working several shifts in a 2 week pay period. (more likely an 8 hour shift rather than 12) Primarily during first shift hours but must be flexible to work hours as a team to meet patient care needs.

May increase to a.5 (40 hours in a 2 week pay period) in the future.

Responsibilities further include being a partner in the wound/skin/ostomy care team, providing coordination and management of patient care to pediatric patients and families within a continuum of care, and delegating patient activities as appropriate. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary health care teams, communication with patients, family and staff, and evaluation of quality outcomes.

Must have minimum of 2 years RN experience and prefer three to four years pediatric nursing experience to have a comprehensive understanding of patient care within the pediatric patient population.

A license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin is required. A bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.

Wound and Ostomy certification is preferred through the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society.

If not currently certified, wound and ostomy nurse certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Orientation will be 3-4 months part time.

Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
