Massage Therapist-Full and Part-Time

Abilities Abound Physical Therapy and Wellness Center is looking for a dynamic massage therapist to join our expanding practice. If you are looking to expand your massage therapy practice and diversify your skill set then Abilities Abound is the place for you. We are seeking to hire a massage therapist to work along with our other medical providers, and are willing to train the right candidate. We are located in the quaint town of Callao, VA which is in the beautiful Northern Neck region of Virginia. Salary will commensurate with experience. Commission starts at $50/hour plus tips. We schedule a minimum of 30 minutes between sessions. All massage sessions are provided on a 45-minute, 60-minute, or 90-minute basis. We also provide supplies and equipment. We do expect massage therapists to change/clean the room after each client as well as share laundry duty with our therapy technicians. We provide an excellent work environment and handle all aspects of marketing/advertising. We also support all massage therapists to further their knowledge, skills, and career goals. Successful candidates must have a positive attitude, be health conscious, and have current Virginia massage therapy license. Additional requirements include exceptional customer service abilities, professional liability insurance. Current Virginia Massage Therapy License according to state law Experience: Appropriate certifications and/or licensees with some previous work-related experience Self-motivated Organized Must be able to work with little supervision needed Dependable Adaptable/flexible Achievement-oriented Innovative Professional in appearance and demeanor Ability to stand, reach, walk and move up to 50 pounds Ability to stand for extended periods of time Job Responsibilities: Consults with clients regarding issues and desired results Services clients to resolve tense or painful area of the body Manipulates musculoskeletal regions to control pain, reduce stress, and promote relaxation Develops treatment plans by determining clinical data Takes into consideration medical history of the patient Guides clients through our offerings and help them choose what type of massage will bring the greatest benefits for their conditions Takes detailed client histories and documents daily sessions appropriately Have the ability to adjust massage techniques to meet the specific needs of clients Assists in cleanliness of the location Perform consistent and appropriate documentation The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
