As a Rare Disease Business Manager working on the Gastroenterology Rare Disease Sales Team, you will be empowered to drive product demand in targeted physician offices and key clinics and impact patients’ lives. Objectives Clearly understand and implement the marketing plan, accurately articulate the value proposition, and use approved marketing materials only to attain sales/patient objectives for assigned products on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis; maintain truthful, non‑misleading communication consistent with compliance policies; manage your territory using discretion and judgment to maximize sales performance; analyze local and regional market trends to build business plans; work compliantly in a matrix environment encompassing Patient Services, Specialty Infusion Pharmacies, and Managed Markets; create productive business partnerships; and seek clarification when uncertain about compliance. Responsibilities Meet regularly with targeted HCPs and staff within assigned geography to understand their needs and discuss whether Takeda and Takeda products could meet those needs. Utilize a consultative selling approach, focusing on a solution‑oriented model for patients with Short Bowel and/or Ulcerative Colitis. Manage a territory marketing and promotional speaker program budget, in compliance with all Takeda compliance policies. Share best practices and actively participate in Regional/National meetings. Use CRM to document account profiles, pre‑ and post‑call activities. Maintain a compliant speaker program and other promotional initiatives within budget constraints. Qualifications Required: BA/BS (or equivalent). 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry; 2+ years at Takeda; 5 years preferred. Ability to discuss therapeutic strategies and influence decision makers. Strong verbal, presenting, written communication, and influencing skills. Residency within or close proximity to the assigned geography and willingness to travel as needed. Ability to adapt to changing business needs, conditions, and responsibilities; ongoing commitment to learning and self‑improvement. Preferred Qualifications Execution of marketing strategies at the local level. Business and strategic planning skills to identify unique selling opportunities. Understanding of managed care landscape and its impact on business. Strong collaboration skills and success working in teams. Experience in specialty injectable sales, infusion pharmacy coordination, and gastroenterology orphan drug sales. Ability to analyze complex technical data and develop strategic, actionable business plans. Minimum 5 years of direct selling to HCPs in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device, or healthcare industry, or relevant clinical/industry experience. Training Requirements The position and continued employment are contingent upon successfully passing mandatory product training, which includes written and oral examinations. The training period consists of live instruction, independent study, role play, and other activities taking no more than 8 hours per day and 40 hours total in a work week. Upon successful completion, the employee will transition to exempt status and become eligible for sales incentive programs. Licenses & Certifications Valid driver’s license. Additional short‑term and long‑term incentive opportunities may apply.
