Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) - Buildings

In the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer, we'll count on you to: Assume the mechanical lead and be the Mechanical and Plumbing Engineer of Record (EOR) on many projects. Assume the mechanical lead and lead and coordinate mechanical and plumbing design through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project. Establish client relations, and participate in the marketing, design and production meetings with regard to mechanical systems. Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Coordinate workload to complete the documents on schedule. Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines. Review mechanical and plumbing documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines. Write and edit mechanical and plumbing specifications and select mechanical and plumbing equipment, systems, and devices. Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents. Provide construction contract administration as needed. Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators, or Mechanical CAD/BIM Technicians as needed. Track the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust the work efforts with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-upon schedule. Work with the Project Manager, Regional Controller, and Regional Director for project reviews with corporate management as needed. Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering Minimum ten (10) years' experience in mechanical and plumbing system design for federal, commercial, and/or institutional facilities Water/Wastewater, Science and Technology, Hospitality, and/or Finance facilities experience is a plus Project Management experience is a plus Proficiency in Revit, Trane Trace3D, IESVE, or similar software Experience in sustainable design/LEED desired, but not required Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering A minimum of 10 years in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCAD Demonstrated leadership skills, previous team coordination and project management experience Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company. The expected compensation range for this position is $127,820 to $207,500 and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
