Ability to read food ticket orders and prepares food for customers Responsible for preparing, seasoning, finishing and garnishing all food in the kitchen preparation in a accordance with established recipes. Follows all recipes and control procedures. Assist in all areas of food production as needed. Responsible for maintaining a consistent and regular attendance record. Ability to oversee and monitor cooking of several items at the same time. Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary area all the times in full accordance with State Health regulations. Bakes, cooks, roasts, broils, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods. Ability to use standard food preparation utensils such as knives, spoons, tongs and whips. Ability to operate power driven kitchen equipment such as a meat slicer or mixer. Cleans and sanitizes all food preparation equipment and ensures that it is kept in safe and operation condition. Ability to determine quality of food by looking, smelling, and tasting. Other duties as assigned by F&B Director/ CEO. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Knowledgeable on methods, materials and practices of volume food preparation. Well versed on sanitary methods used in food preparation and related activities. Knowledge on inventory and ordering methods. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or GED preferred. Bi-lingual English/ Spanish preferred. Must be culturally sensitive to minority population especially Native Americans; must be able to successfully pass a post-offer drug screen and criminal history background check. Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers card within 30 days of employment or present upon hire. Must possess excellent organizational skills for dealing with diverse duties and staff. Must be able to work well and safely under pressure. Ability to handle multi-tasks and prioritize accordingly. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the Employee is regularly required to use good manual and finger dexterity, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The Employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
