Senior Flight Software EngineerWebster, TX Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Senior Flight Software Engineer who will primarily be responsible for the design and development of flight software for the Space Station. This position reports to Software Team Lead. This role is onsite and will be based at our ASTC facility. This position has multiple job openings (and may be filled at multiple levels). DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESWork with a team to design, develop, and test embedded flight softwareProvide software technical leadership in assigned area of responsibilityDesign and build functional, efficient, dependable, secure, and maintainable softwareCollaborate with hardware and software engineers on board-level firmwareGive and receive productive feedback during collaboration and in design and code reviewsExecute test plans and procedures in Hardware-in-the-Loop testbeds and support test automation platforms to facilitate CI/CD initiativesCollaborate effectively with avionics engineers to integrate hardware simulation and fault injection solutions into real-time softwareSupport completion of milestone reviews such as PDR, CDR, and SDRProvide mentoring to junior software engineersPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in computer science or related field7+ years of experience using C++ in an embedded Linux environment5+ years of experience in developing software for spaceflight or other safety critical systems5+ years of experience leading software development from concept thru deliveryFamiliarity with microcontroller programming in CExperience with Bitbucket or Gitlab and Jenkins software tools, and Agile software development processesFamiliar with containerization supporting Continuous Development/Continuous Integration pipelines on Linux SystemsEssential Functions Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
