Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures
• Perform patient assessments, obtain health histories, and prepare patients for procedures
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and moderate sedation as prescribed
• Monitor patient vital signs, oxygenation, and cardiac status throughout procedures and recovery
• Assist physicians during upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, bronchoscopy, and other endoscopic procedures
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and procedural emergencies
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, medications, and discharge instructions
• Ensure proper handling and documentation of specimens collected during procedures
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Follow infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and endoscope reprocessing guidelines
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, endoscopy technicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care

Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Minimum 1 year of recent Endoscopy nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• Current ACLS Certification required
• Experience with moderate sedation and post-procedure recovery preferred
• Strong knowledge of gastrointestinal procedures, patient monitoring, and procedural nursing
• Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced procedural environment
