Requisition No: 878471 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: STAFF ASSISTANT - 64081007 Pay Plan: Career Service Position Number: 64081007 Salary: $34,760.00 - $38,236.00 Posting Closing Date: 07/10/2026 Total Compensation Estimator ToolOPEN COMPETITIVE Your Specific Responsibilities: The employee in this position performs administrative work for the Bureau of Child Care Food Programs, Finance and Information Management Section. The work requires a high degree of initiative, independence, judgment, accuracy and understanding of administration. The incumbent in this position will be required to complete a certification twice a year stating that all time worked has been on the Child Care Food Program. The incumbent complies with and monitors compliance (when applicable) of the mandatory requirements in Section 215.422, FS and Chapter 69 I - 40, FAC. Provides general administrative support to the Finance and Information Management Staff and Bureau Staff. This includes, but is not limited to answering the telephone, receptionist maintains minutes for section meetings, typing, composing emails, filing, processing travel authorizations and reimbursement vouchers for staff, assists with time sheets, prepares and completes supply requisitions, maintains current inventory of all forms and supplies for the use of all staff. Serves as back up to the Administrative Assistant II PSN081020. Aids and receives work assignments from the Administrative Assistant II. These assignments may include but are not limited to assistance with statewide mail outs, making copies, inputting MFMP purchase requisitions, P-Card Purchases, updating phone list, maintains COOP list. Process Debt Collections and Restitution payments received by the Bureau and submits to the PSN 640001565 Government Operations Consultant II for Processing. Submits the Monthly Participation Reports to The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications: Purchasing Card – Assigned Purchasing Card responsibilities. Purchasing – This position is responsible for the preparation of purchasing and the approval of purchasing. The incumbent in this position is considered to have regulatory responsibilities in that s/he shall determine a regulated entity’s compliance with federal, state or local statutes or regulation; or determine or recommend whether the agency should issue, revoke, cancel or suspend an entity’s participation in a government program; or approve or recommend administrative transactions between the agency and a regulated entity. Therefore, the incumbent is subject to the requirements of Chapter 112, F.S., Chapter 60L-36, F.A.C. and DOH Policy 30-2-07 with which s/he is required to be thoroughly familiar. Incumbent may have access to records containing social security numbers in the performance of job duties. Emergency Duty: Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
