About the Role

We are hiring an Investor, Private Equity to help lead SaxeCap's investment arm as it scales. SaxeCap invests alongside the sponsors and management teams we work with, primarily through leveraged buyout co-investments in healthcare services, financial services, and business services, where our AI transformation practice gives us a differentiated view of the value creation plan before we commit capital. This role sits at the center of that model.

You will own significant parts of the investment lifecycle and the investor relationships that fund it: sourcing and screening co-investment opportunities from our sponsor network, leading underwriting and diligence, structuring and negotiating our participation, raising and managing capital from limited partners, and managing the portfolio after close. You will work directly with our founder and senior leadership, and the role is scoped to the individual: we are open to candidates across a range of seniority levels, and title and responsibilities will reflect your experience.

This is not a seat where you wait for deals to come down the pipe. SaxeCap sees transformation opportunities across 200+ companies and 70+ sponsor relationships, and a meaningful part of your job is turning that flow into a disciplined, repeatable investment program.

What You Will Do

• Underwrite. Lead the end-to-end evaluation of LBO co-investments and other private equity opportunities: build and pressure-test operating and LBO models, assess capital structures, lead commercial and financial diligence, and work with our AI transformation team to size and underwrite the AI-driven value creation plan with the same rigor as the base case.
• Execute. Structure and negotiate co-investment terms with lead sponsors, manage legal, tax, and financing workstreams, and run the process from LOI through closing.
• Raise capital. Build and manage relationships with limited partners, including family offices, institutions, and sovereign investors. Lead LP meetings, draft investment memos and marketing materials, run the data room, and manage the subscription and closing process for SaxeCap's investment vehicles and SPVs.
• Manage the portfolio. Monitor portfolio company performance, work with sponsors and management teams on value creation initiatives, prepare quarterly reporting and valuations for LPs, and support follow-on investments, refinancings, and exits.
• Build the platform. Help design the investment process, IC materials, reporting cadence, and fund operations as SaxeCap's investment arm grows from a series of co-investments into a scaled, institutional program.

About You

You are an experienced private equity investor who has done the work: you have underwritten real deals, defended them to an investment committee, lived with the results, and raised the money that made them possible. You want to apply that experience inside a platform where AI is not a slide in the value creation plan but the core of it, and where you will have more ownership and a broader mandate than a traditional fund seat offers. Specifically:

• 8 to 15 years of experience in private equity, with substantial time in leveraged buyout investing at a reputable sponsor; co-investment, secondaries, or fund-of-funds experience is a strong plus
• You have led or co-led underwriting on multiple closed transactions, including building the model, running diligence, and writing the investment committee memo
• You have direct experience raising capital from and managing relationships with limited partners, including family offices, institutions, or sovereign investors, and you are comfortable in the room when the ask is being made
• You have managed portfolio companies post-close: board or observer participation, value creation planning, performance monitoring, and reporting to investors
• You have deep familiarity with healthcare services, financial services, or business services, and you understand the unit economics and value drivers in at least one of these sectors cold
• You have strong technical fluency in deal structuring, capital markets, and fund mechanics (co-investment vehicles, SPVs, carried interest, waterfalls, LPA terms)
• You are intellectually curious about AI and willing to get technical enough to underwrite it: you don't need to code, but you need to be able to tell a real AI value creation plan from a slide
• You have operated in lean, fast-moving environments and are comfortable doing the work yourself rather than delegating it down a pyramid
• Bachelor's degree from a top-tier institution; MBA or equivalent is a plus but not required

• Operator empathy. You have spent real time with management teams and understand what it takes to execute a value creation plan, not just model one. The best candidates have sat in the operating review, not only the board meeting.
• Builder DNA. You have helped stand up something new: a fund, a strategy, a co-investment program, an investment process. You are energized rather than frustrated by the absence of a playbook.
• AI conviction with rigor. You believe AI will reshape the value creation playbook across private equity, and you want to be on the team that proves it with returns, not rhetoric.
