Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $73,500 – $78,750 (competitive locum tenens pay)
- Location: On-site at a 280-bed hospital in Du Bois, PA — Du Bois / central Pennsylvania urology job
- Contract Length: 6 months (June 29, 2026 – December 28, 2026)
- Shifts: 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM); dates scheduled in advance — inpatient urology call coverage; Shift Duration: 12 Hour Any
- Practice Setting: Hospital-based; adult inpatient urology, consultations, and emergency department support
- Support Staff: Dedicated nursing staff, anesthesia, and emergency department support
- EMR: Cerner (inpatient) with GE Centricity outpatient access as needed — experience with Cerner/GE Centricity preferred
Job Requirements
- Board Certification in Urology (required) — board-certified urologist preferred for locum tenens roles
- Active Pennsylvania medical license (required) — Pennsylvania license or ability to obtain promptly
- ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
- DEA registration (required)
- Minimum 1 year of post-residency experience in urology (2 years preferred)
- Experience with Cerner and/or GE Centricity EMR systems preferred
- Ability to obtain emergency privileges within 1–2 weeks if documents are submitted promptly
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for urology services and perform morning inpatient rounding — role as on-call urologist
- Perform common and advanced urologic procedures as needed, including cystoscopy, stent placement for hematuria, kidney stone treatment (stone extraction or holmium laser lithotripsy), and management of rare testicular torsion cases
- Consult with the emergency department and other providers for Foley catheter placement, hematuria management, and acute urologic care
- Manage a varied adult patient population in a busy hospital setting — inpatient urology, consults, and emergency cases
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care and smooth transitions between hospital and outpatient services
