In this exciting role, you will:Assist the program with proposal preparedness and execution activitiesAssist the program through architectural development and subsequent design reviews to include SRR, PDR, and CDRHave the opportunity to work closely with the Program Management team in leading staffing needs for the teamHelp develop timely resolution plans of issues and ensure the validity of designs, compliance evidence, and all associated documentationHelp to resolve Program execution issues quickly to support leadership needsManages the research, planning, design and development of mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs application of research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.Basic Qualifications:Knowledge of aerospace structures hardware, conversant in other mechanical systems (including flight, ground, packaging, and mechanisms), and organizational processes.Experience leading and/or managing multi-disciplinary engineering teamsExperience leading design efforts in support of conceptual, preliminary, and/or detailed design activitiesFundamental understanding of flight hardware design, integration, and/or test principlesTop Secret security clearance required prior to start; US citizenship requiredDesired Skills:Experience building key relationships across organizations to achieve strategic and/or tactical goalsAt least 8 years of professional experience in design/development work + leadership experienceBachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent experience/combined educationDemonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership competencies, including: communicating with positive impact, developing enduring relationships, making effective decisions, delivering value, building organizational talent, and being accountableExperience leading hardware development teamsFundamental understanding of mechanical drafting standards and techniquesExperience working with procurement and outside suppliersPrevious production, operations, CAM, proposal, and/or IPT lead experienceWillingness to mentor and develop junior engineersExcellent written and verbal technical communication skillsPay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
