HR Generalist

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, compliance, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A.S.); and at least three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs.

• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

• Process employee data for new hires, changes, additional earnings, etc.

• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.

• Prepares reports and presents findings and recommendations to the HR director.

• Prepares training materials, guides, and documentation.

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions, including job postings, sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates.

• Conduct reference checks and background screenings to ensure candidates meet organizational and regulatory standards.

• Coordinate new hire onboarding processes, including background checks, credentialing, and license verifications.

• Track expiration dates for required certifications, licenses, and background checks, proactively notifying employees to maintain compliance.

• Conduct new hire orientations to welcome employees and introduce them to organizational policies, culture, and expectations.

• Identify training needs, develop training materials, and coordinate employee training sessions to ensure compliance and support professional development.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as organizational policies and healthcare standards.

• Conduct regular audits of employee files, HR records, and HRIS data to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Administer COBRA notifications, ensuring accurate and timely communication with eligible individuals.

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and general employment matters, providing support and resolution in a timely manner.

• Support employee engagement and retention initiatives by addressing workplace concerns and facilitating open communication between employees and management.

• Conduct regular check-ins with new employees during their initial months to ensure a positive transition.

• Attend job fairs and recruitment events to represent the organization and attract potential candidates.

• Oversee the administration of drug testing and worker's compensation claims, coordinating with vendors and ensuring proper documentation.

• Support HR in processing exit procedures, coordinating with managers and ensuring compliance with policies.

• Other duties as assigned to support the organization's human resources needs.
