Supervisor of Special Education

Qualifications:

• Masters degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid New Jersey Supervisor Certificate in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:9B-12.7.
• Valid New Jersey certification as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDTC) School Psychologist School Social Worker Speech Therapist Occupational Therapist Physical Therapist Teacher of Students with Disabilities endorsement or Teacher of the Handicapped.
• Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching or related educational experience in special education or as a member of the Child Study Team (CST).
• Demonstrated knowledge ofo child development of students with disabilities and special education laws and regulations (N.J.A.C. 6A:14).
• Experience and capacity to supervise and support Child Study Team members.
• Strong understanding of instructional strategies classroom management assessments and diagnostic tools.
• High level of integrity professionalism and initiative.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English with the ability to engage students staff parents and community members.
• Proficiency in technology including Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and student data management systems.
